Today was the big manifestion and action against the nuclearweapons stored at the army base near volkel.
Arround 150 people showed up, either to just quietly protest or to try to get on the base itself and ‘clean up’ the nukes. It was a wet day, which started with a lot of rain, but few people where disharted by this and the manifestion started gleefully. There where speakers like Meindert Stelling, Henk van der Keur and Mikkie Venema. Perforamances by Manu, Zjef Naaijkens, Loutje Bosch, Srdan Kekanovic, The Bucketboyz, Fanfare van de Eerste Liefdesnacht and Nico van Apeldoorn.
Arround 12 ‘o clock the first people started getting over the wall and subsequentually getting arrested. During the day as the manifestion progressed more and more people and shoppingcarts people crossed the fence, with it height at arround 15:00.
At 17:00 the manifestion is getting to it’s end with people cleaning up and going home. At this point about 30 people got arrested and about 9 have been released already.
